Our Premium vintage inspired baseball tees represent the logos and rich history of the Negro, Latin and Federal baseball leagues, plus historic barnstorming baseball teams.
Cuba, with its winter leagues, was an enticing location for Negro League teams battling bitter east coast winters. Teams would venture to the Caribbean locale in search of warm weather, beautiful beaches, and competitive baseball. Cuba offered these in abundance, and with the inviting culture, strong relationships were made between the Negro League players and their hosting Cuba talent. In 1935, the Negro National League extended an invitation to Cuban players, and the New York Cubans were born. Playing at historical institutions such as Hinchliffe Stadium, the Cubans were consistently competitive but unable to secure a league title until 1947. Led by pitcher Luis Tiant Sr. and fielder Minnie Minoso, the Cubans defeated the Cleveland Buckeyes and were crowned Negro World Series champions. The following years proved difficult for the Cubans. 1948 witnessed the fall of the Negro National League, and the Cubans would only survive two more seasons before their final outing.
