Our vintage inspired classic custom crafted trucker style meshback snapbacks represent the logos and rich history of the great negro and latin baseball leagues, barnstorming baseball teams, federal leagues and Japanese baseball.
Detroit is known for being the “Motor City,” birthplace of Motown, and its love of baseball. The Stars played their first game in Mack Park on Easter Sunday in 1919. They earned the immediate respect of the baseball world by defeating a powerful semi-professional team in front of 3500 fans. In 1920, the Stars became charter members of Rube Foster’s Negro National League. This team called the famous Mack Park home until a fire destroyed the main grandstand, forcing them to relocate in 1930. The Stars never won a pennant but fielded some of the greatest ball players in history. Hall of Famers such as Pete Hill, Jose Mendez, Cristobal Torriente, and Andy Cooper, as well as Ted "Double Duty" Radcliffe, Bingo DeMoss, and Norman “Turkey” Stearnes, all called Detroit home.
