Miami, the city of fun under the sun, is an entertainment magnet with captivating beaches, pristine waters, vibrant nightlife, and world-class cuisine. The city was also home to one of the most entertaining teams in baseball history, the Miami Giants. Initial funding for a local club is fabled to have begun with bootlegger and numbers king Johnny “Red” Pierce before the official establishment of the Giants in 1936. Adopting the name Ethiopian Clowns and historic Dorsey Park as its home field, the team successfully barnstormed through the south. Game days featured a star-studded ensemble of baseball talent with over-the-top personas and circus-like flair. The team would continue their antics and crowd-pleasing performances before going on to become the infamous Indianapolis Clowns. |
