Our vintage inspired classic custom crafted hoodies represent the logos and rich history of the great negro and latin baseball leagues, barnstorming baseball teams, federal leagues and Japanese baseball.

After being forced out of leadership with the Hilldale club, Ed Bolden couldn’t watch the game he loved from the stands. In 1933, Bolden and Ed Gottlieb formed the Philadelphia Stars, took up residence at Passion Field, and spent that season barnstorming as an independent team. Although reluctant to join, Bolden was convinced of the benefit of joining the newly reformed Negro National League. However, In 1934, they joined and moved their home base to Penmar Park. The team found immediate success by winning the championship series that season and remained a fixture in the league until its dissolution in 1948. With the passing of Bolden in 1950, Gottlieb and Bolden’s daughter, Hilda, attempted to keep the club afloat. However, this proved increasingly difficult without the founding visionary, and the Stars folded in 1952. Bolden and his Stars maintained a local identity throughout their time, and a memorial to their legacy has been dedicated at Penmar Park, where their home stadium once stood.
