The Chicago American Giants were founded in 1911 by the “Father of Black Baseball” and hall of famer Rube Foster.  The team’s aggressive, disciplined style was the gold standard of baseball throughout the 1920s. The club secured Negro National League titles in 1920, 1921, and 1922. They went on to win the Colored World Series in 1926 and 1927.  Many considered them the franchise to beat. Notable players include Hall of Fame pitcher Bill Foster, Jimmie Crutchfield, and Ted “Double Duty” Radcliffe.
